About Me: Family is very important to me. My husband works in the Computer Networking industry. We have two children, a daughter and son, both with hearing loss. Our daughter is a junior in high school, a gymnast, and a new driver. Our youngest son is entering 7th grade and has Down syndrome. He is involved in many sports through Special Olympics.

Educational History: I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University and then went back to obtain my K-12 Reading Specialist Certification from St. Mary's University. I have been teaching in the Burnsville and Farmington school districts for the past several years. I bring with me a diverse background of experiences; long term sub K-5, music instruction K-5, reading intervention 2-6, and 4th/5th grade classroom. I have also been a part of building and district implementations of growth mindset, literacy, and standards based reporting.

Hobbies/Interests: I am an avid reader and photographer. I take many of my photos while traveling to new places with my family. My kids are active in sports, so I am busy running and watching their games.

Favorite author/historical figure: My favorite author is Patricia Polacco because she uses her personal experiences as a child through the characters in her books to send amazing messages to the reader.

Personal motto/inspirational quote: Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. - Albert Einstein
